What happens if you accidentally shine a laser pointer at your dogs eyes?

I was playing with my puppy with a laser pointer and making it go around in circles around the yard and may have accidentally past it along her eyes on the way back around. She's acting fine now and seems like she can see. I have the Spotbrites Laser Pet Toy with 5 Images. Is there a chance that it really hurt her eyes? please help.

His eyes will explode in a few days, don't worry though, if you collect the juice you can make a awesome milkshake.

No, I don't think so. If it's a pet toy then I hope it would be safe for pets. Just a quick flash like that won't hurt her.

I've had a laser pointer shone in my eyes on numerous occasions. Hasn't hurt my vision at all.

I asked an optometry student about it a few years back. He told me that they'd had discussions along these lines in his classes, and basically the jury was out as far as the effect of long term exposure, but that nothing had yet been demonstrated.

A direct shot into the pupil of the eye "might" burn a spot on the retina. If it did, that would deteriorate vision. It's very unlikely that you shot your doggy straight in the eye. So bow-wow, I'm ok boss. Don't panic.
