How Do I Control the Mouse Pointer Without Using the Mouse on a Dell Laptop?

I’ve tried using mousekeys – the icon appears in the task bar, but I’m still unable to control the pointer with the keyboard. Any ideas?

Have you checked the settings in the Control Panel/Mouse to make sure the touchpad is enabled? If you are using an external mouse, it probably needs software loaded. If wireless, the channel may not match on the units, or a battery may be weak.
