Is it safe to use a laser pointer when playing with cats?

I've discovered that our cats go nuts over my laser pointer.

It's now the preferred toy, all others are boring (apparantly).

I have concerns as to whether it's safe or not though.

I don't shine it on them or anything, they just chase after the dot.

Is there any way that doing that could damage their eyes?

Thanks

Well, 5 out of my 6 cats LOVE to chase the dot. Also, my two small dogs go nuts over it as well. Just be careful not to shine it into their eyes, and watch for reflections off of shiny surfaces. Sometimes, when the floor is shiny or very smooth it could reflect and get into their eyed.

Have fun. One fun thing to do, is run the dot along the floor and then make it appear as though it went under something, like the couch. Then just sit back and laugh yourself silly, watching them trying to get the dot out from under there. ((Grin))

How do I get my English Pointer puppy to go for a walk?

We just adopted a 7 month old female English Pointer mix. She is incredibly well-behaved but somewhat timid. She learns quickly but has no interest in going out on a leash. When we go for a walk we get about 50 yards and then she just stops and will not move. I don't want to pull on her (it doesn't work) but I would love her to be my walking companion. Also, she will not cross threshholds. I can only think her former owners had invisible fencing. No one I know has ever had this problem with a dog. Any advice?

That does sound like invisible fencing. Let her know that your the boss and you will not lead her into any danger. I know that it sound barbaric, but we used a "choke chain" on our two labs. Most people put these chains in the wrong place, they are meant to go in the soft spots right behind the ears and are not meant to hurt the dog. Whenever ours would start to pull us on the leash we would give them a quick tug and tell them "no pull". I don't believe that we ever hurt them but we did get their attention and they no longer pull us. But by no means is she "un-trainable". She will probably take some patience and a lot of encouragement but whatever you decide, make sure that you stay consist ant. Give her lots of love too.

Good luck :)

How to Choose a High Chair Cover

If you're interested in purchasing a high chair cover either for your child or as a gift for a friend or family member, you'll want to make your choice carefully. While there is a wide selection of high chair cover on the market, not all of them are created equal and not all of them are right for babies. Below are some pointers that will help you choose a high chair cover for the baby in your life.

Pointer #1: Look at the Padding

A High chair cover is meant to do plenty of things, including keeping the baby safe from germs. However, the covers can also make sitting in those hard high chairs a lot more comfortable and that can mean a more pleasant dining experience for the rest of the family.

To make sure the high chair cover is particularly comfortable, you should pay attention to the amount of padding included in it. If possible, touch the padding to make sure it feels soft and like a nice cushion. That means the baby is going to enjoy it a lot more.

If you're buying online, then look at the product description or read reviews of the product from other buyers. That should give you some insight to how well the high chair cover is padded.

Pointer #2: Consider A Reversible High chair cover

Like most things for babies, a high chair cover is going to get stained and dirty. While cleaning them can help, over washing can strip a high chair cover of its original color. Plus, you may get tired of looking at the same cover style all the time.

For these reasons, you might consider looking for reversible a high chair cover. These are available through vendors, such as Pure & Honest Kids. The real benefit here is that you'll have more choices without having to purchase more than one. That's going to save money in the long run and will definitely be something appreciated by parents.

Pointer #3: Consider Style

Although health and comfort are the two best reasons to consider purchasing a high chair cover, you don't want to forget the importance of showing off the baby's impeccable sense of style to the public, do you? Remember that a high chair cover also give parents a chance to make a fashion statement.

The good news is you'll find some great style choices for a high chair cover available. For example, the hottest color combination for baby girls this year is pink and chocolate and Pure & Honest Kids offers adorable high chair cover that have pink and chocolate stripes on one side and dots in the same color pattern on the reverse side.

The Bottom Line with a High chair cover

A high chair cover can be a wonderful investment for babies, especially if you're going to be taking him or her out on the town quite often. There's no reason to compromise your baby's comfort or your health concerns as a high chair cover can offer you the protection you want for your child.

How can i develop a 3 pointer stroke and soft touch?

I really am a mid range guy but i want to become a perimeter shooter.I want to develop a three pointer stroke. Sometimes when i shoot the three, my right hand gets involved (im lefty). I want to change that. Also it goes short or it goes too left or too right. I just want to know some ways to develop a consistent three point stroke and a soft touch.

Hey what's up dude, I feel you on that. I played two guard and I'm a left hand. it sounds like you don't have the control of the ball when you releasing the ball. my advice is to start praticing shooting the ball with your left hand.. and try to keep your right hand from getitng invovled. YOu need to attend a basketball camp or seek a coach that will show you how to shoot the ball the right way.

Now.. let me tell you how i became a better 3 point shooter. I praticed everyday.. for three hours. I made sure i hit 200 shots everyday from outside… You need to learn how to relax and shoot under pressure and stuff like that.
