Website design is not just about creating something pretty. There demands to show substance behind every design related decision and one very important decision is what colour your site should be. Choice of colours can be the difference between the success and failure of a site.

Being aware that some colours can lead to emotional reactions is the vital to choosing the right colours for a site. Knowing which colours have a calming effect and which provoke excitement may make choosing a colour scheme very easy.

Colours may also be used to create contrast and emphasis to a design. This could be used to pointer users to desired parts of a page.

Below is a brief pointer to how some colours affect human emotions and perceptions.

Red is linked to strength, fire, blood and passion. If used sparingly on a light background colour, it can be used to appeal attention and highlight.

Blue is the larger favoured colour and it may denote confidence, loyalty and royalty. The darker end can point to strength whilst the lighter end may be used to express fantasy and dream.

The colour green could summarise senses of durability, safety and harmony. It is also a reputable colour to use to emphasise calm and relaxation.

Linked with thoughts of cold, royalty, peace and air, blue is the better well-liked colour for corporate websites. It creates the opposite reaction to red.

Green symbolises nature, environment, peace and luck. Green is a satisfying colour to use to create a calming effect.

Standing for joy, happiness, warning and stamina, yellow has a similar effect to red, although it is not as favourite. It could be used to highlight spaces of a site. Withal, if used too much, it could be an overpowering colour.

Orange is a colour that is synonymous with vibrancy, heat, fire and force. A healing colour, it could be used in website design to signify openness.

Purple is not a very notorious, colour in web design, as it is seen as quite feminine and can give the impression of arrogance, wealth, luxury and indulgence.

Orange is associated with fire, enthusiasm, heat and danger. But it is also a very friendly and youthful colour that is used frequently in web-sites aimed at youth civilization.

Tradition, stability, depth and nature are all associated with the colour brown. But it is very similar to green in the fact that it is also related to trees, mother earth and calm.

It is evident that colours do not just make a web-site look pretty, but they also have an underlying effect of user experience and could thus dictate how successful a site could be. Getting the colours right can create a site that users can identify and will make them more willing to use, uncover and promote the site to friends. Getting the colours wrong could inadvertently put users off and display them switch off in droves.

I have a laser pointer that uses 3 - 1.5V watch batteries. I assume that means it needs exactly 4.5V to work? What do I need to do to power the laser pointer off of my electronics projects 5V power supply?

You should probably be fine to power the laser at 5 V. It does not need exactly 5V to work.

Most electronics have a voltage tolerance, and 5V over a 4.5 V requirement is fine. A slight overvoltage is fine. Undervoltage is not.

You should add a resistor inline with the supply, though to limit the current so you don't fry the electronics. A 5 V supply and a 1 kOhm resistor will yield a mA. Read up on the datasheet of the laser to see the needed current and adjust it appropriately. (A smaller resistor will give more current. A higher resistance will give less current).

You could also build a voltage divider to divide the voltage down to 4.5.

Watch batteries are cheap, if you buy them online. A battery that might cost $5.00 at a convenience store might cost 10 cents if you buy it online.

Every day I restart my computer, and every day I need to go back into mouse properties to reset my pointer speed to the settings I like. (...)

Every day I restart my computer, and every day I need to go back into mouse properties to reset my pointer speed to the settings I like.

What seems very strange to me is that right when i log onto my computer, my settings are fine. It's only after about a minute that they reset to system defaults.

Thanks in advance!

If your computer always restart, There are some reason:
I. It's Hot in There
Sometimes this can be caused by an overheating situation. Itunes, RealPlayer, Windows Media player, etc. require a lot of processing power to decompress and decode music files, which can cause the processor or hard drive to get hot.
Memory Fails Me…
If you determine that overheating is not the problem, the most likely suspect is bad memory.
II. Don't Do Me Any Favors
There's a setting buried in Windows XP that tells your computer to restart when a system error occurs. you turn off that option, you may solve your automatic reboot problem.
1) Click Start, then open Control Panel
2) Click Performance and Maintenance
3) Click System
4) Click on the Advanced Tab
5) Click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section
6) Uncheck Automatically Restart in the System failure section
Note that this may prevent the system from restarting, but it can also mask the true problem.
The most common cause of computer restarting is a corrupt registry.
Most likely your registry is bloated and overstuffed with an assortment of useless pieces of data. The operating system while running your computer has to pick its way through all this excess material. There will be bits of programs which were not completely uninstalled, parts of programs which were never completely installed, fragments of miscellaneous data, useless drivers, and a multitude of other bits and pieces.
The answer is to clean your registry and remove all the material which is not needed.
http://fix-computer-freezing.com/Clean_Up_Center.htm
Get the best one, and completely clean your windows registry with a few clicks of the mouse.

III. Computer Restarts After Download?

This can also be a virus or spyware problem. I suggest you go through your Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs list and remove any programs you don't need, then run thorough anti-virus and anti-spyware scans. See:

Also, another thing I've been wondering is thatttt when I watch really good violinists play, the bow seems so light and easy to move up and down, but when I play it feels heavy. Am I doing something wrong or is my bow actually too heavy?

you are using muscles that usually dont get used. keep playing and you will get stronger and build more endurance

The most trusted way to expand corporate visibility in the web is through network marketing, and a well-rounded marketing system is believed to be the best asset for any online business. (...)

The most trusted way to expand corporate visibility in the web is through network marketing, and a well-rounded marketing system is believed to be the best asset for any online business.

A detailed and ironclad marketing plan will, in general, find it difficult to take off without an effective marketing strategy, and a combination of the right approach and the right tactics almost always ensures favorable responses.

The most essential pointer in developing a network marketing strategy would be its efficiency and organization of thought, both put together in a structure that represents the company's values and ambitions - two of the fundamentals of any network marketing campaign. If a company decides that its main goal is to attract more customers, follow-up plans such as website design and the overall campaign layout must be structured to do just that.

Keeping this in mind would also help the company achieve another important pointer in marketing strategies: distinguishing the brand from the rest of the pack.

Network marketing companies have continuously appeared all over the web at an insane pace, and any entrepreneur planning to jump into the network marketing industry is immediately faced with the challenge of vying for customer attention and approval amidst the millions of other network marketing businesses fighting to get the exact same thing. The network marketing company must be armed with something extra that will be presented to customers as an extra asset or bonus upon patronizing the business.

In order to achieve this, an extra bit of research would most probably be needed. Familiarizing yourself with the competition, and getting to know them not just as rival network marketing businesses but as corporate entities with the same goals as your company, will provide a better idea of their own present, as well as potential, products and marketing strategies. And as with anything, inside knowledge about the other network marketing competitors always provides a big opportunity for you to pinpoint any services you yourself may add or expand on.

Upon achieving the primary goals of email marketing in relation to your network marketing business, the next step would be a combination of corporate image, and consumer need satisfaction. In other words, the network marketing business must now focus on further actualizing common customer requirements, such as convenience.

Giving customers a quick and easy way to access the service and its products is a very important and effective addition to any network marketing company. Potential customers visiting the network marketing website would find themselves quickly frustrated and eventually discouraged if they are faced with an interface that weaves through a long number of steps in order to complete transactions such as purchases or payments.

One of the most significant features of network marketing businesses is the convenience and the expediency they offer the customers. It would be amiss for any network marketing company to present potential patrons with tools and processes that offer the complete opposite.

Specifically, there is no definite formula for the effective marketing strategy, as the overall results depends upon a long number of factors related to the corporation, the customer, and the online technology itself. But amidst the uncontrollable aspects, the success of network marketing businesses that have pushed themselves to the forefront of the Internet industry has been the result of various combinations of strategies that are in fact controllable.

The ultimate guideline would be to identify the "personality" of the network marketing business, and form marketing strategies most compatible to the company vision and personality.

I want to get a laser pointer I could use for just my friends and me. I want to get a high power laser pointer but I don't know how large to get it. Thanks.

Normal pointing, a <5mw will do the trick. If you want a COOL one that you can see on houses during the day and pop black balloons, get the one I have http://www.amazon.com/Green-Laser-Rubber-Finish-Powered/dp/B001ACYCE2 Just don't point it at people of African descent or on freckles as the dark colored skin will absorb it all and it hurts!

These lasers are cheap and are usually less powerful than they are cracked up to be, but mine works great! It is a 50mw one, but that product has been measured around 18mw to 44mw.

Pros: Cheap $20
Powerful
Bright
Green (new for most people)
Small
Runs on AAA's and keeps a charge
SEE the beam in the dark and up to the clouds at night!

Cons: Dangerous to the eyes
Shorter lifetime
Only online
Works worse in the cold

I'm looking into buying a laser pointer, but I want one where you can see the actual laser. I want one that can go really far, but is pretty cheap. It doesn't need to sting skin or pop balloons (although that would be cool), but I'd want it to mainly be seen for a long ways away and the actual laser to be seen (like the line).

Thanks
to see a laser line you need particulate in the air, dust, fog, smoke, etc. go to a laser light show and get the idea. you can rent a smoke machine at most theatrical supply stores.
